A five year old girl held for two days without food and water, and raped.

Those hypocritical two-faced leaders of society who claim that women's provocative behaviour is the reason they are raped ... that they should not travel alone at night, they should dress decently, and they will never be raped ... will those hypocritical leaders come forward and explain what wrong did this five year old girl commit that she was subjected to such torture? Was she out alone late at night? Was she dressed indecently or provocatively? Was she maybe behaving provocatively or suggestively with her rapist? Did she "tempt" him into his crime?
Do those leaders have any answers for us now?
A rapist is a criminal ... full stop. Do NOT try to justify his crime with reasoning ... and do not let him off scot free, with pleas about his family and his life. If he damages the life of another person, he has to pay the price. And the lesson has to be driven into the heads of others ... that this is not a crime they can get away with.
Sadly that remains the feeling even now ... that rape is not a serious enough crime to deserve severe punishment. Because the victims is a woman or girl, while the perpetrator is a man. And women are apparently unimportant.
